Madinat Jumeirah is far more than just a souk or a single hotel.
The area includes several hotels, among them Jumeirah Al Qasr, Mina Al Salam, Al Naseem and Dar Al Masyaf. Right next to it, the Burj Al Arab naturally shapes the entire setting.
Of these hotels, I have personally only visited Al Qasr so far – and that is exactly why I focus on it here.
Al Qasr
Al Qasr is an experience in itself simply because of its size. The property is extremely spacious, and many areas are most conveniently reached using the hotel’s golf carts.
Even the driveway with the golden horses is hard to forget and immediately creates that classic grand-hotel feeling.
I can also recommend the café inside the hotel.
And here we are again with my weakness: desserts.
The tiramisu was genuinely excellent. For the price, I could probably have made several trays of tiramisu myself – but it was still worth it to me.
My tip: Reserve a restaurant or café in advance. If you arrive only as a visitor, parking can otherwise become relatively expensive quite quickly.
Pierchic
Pierchic is located directly on a pier, practically next to the Burj Al Arab.
The location is exceptional, the Italian cuisine is very good, and I also found the staff to be excellent.
My rating: 4.6/5
Cala Vista
I also found Cala Vista very recommendable.
Here too, the cuisine is Italian, but above all, the terrace is beautiful. There is a large tree in the middle, and you have a direct view of the beach and the Burj Al Arab.

Christmas at Al Qasr
During the Christmas season, there is also a Christmas market on the Al Qasr grounds.
I personally loved it.
Considering that you are in a predominantly Islamic country, I found the attention to detail impressive. Christmas markets, decorations and huge Christmas trees are sometimes created with such consistency that they genuinely reminded me a little of Christmas from my childhood.
For me, that makes it very clear: I can recommend Christmas in Dubai.
Madinat Jumeirah
Then, of course, there is Madinat Jumeirah with its souk.
The term “bazaar” can be a little misleading here because people can imagine very different things when they hear it. You will find shops selling cosmetics, jewellery, souvenirs and many other things.
There should be something for almost everyone.
Personally, however, I am not a particularly big fan of it – but again, that is purely a matter of taste.
Another thing worth mentioning is that around Madinat Jumeirah and the neighbouring hotels, there is an enormous number of restaurants, bars and beach clubs, including some internationally well-known names.
Wild Wadi Waterpark is also located in the immediate area. You can easily spend an entire day or evening here without ever having to leave the area.
From a purely gastronomic point of view, you could probably spend several days here without trying everything.
I do not want to simply list these places just because they are well known. As with my entire guide, the same rule applies here: I only write about places I have personally visited.
My Conclusion
Jumeirah and Madinat Jumeirah are definitely worth a visit.
The combination of several hotels, the souk, Wild Wadi, numerous restaurants, bars and beach clubs, together with the direct view of the Burj Al Arab, makes this area special.
Add to that places such as Pierchic and Cala Vista, which I have personally visited and can highly recommend.
There are also several other well-known restaurants directly on the beach that I have not personally visited yet.
And as always with my guide: I only write about places I have actually been to.
Madinat Jumeirah ist weit mehr als nur ein Souk oder ein einzelnes Hotel. Zum Areal gehören mehrere Hotels, darunter Jumeirah Al Qasr, Mina Al Salam, Al Naseem und Dar Al Masyaf.
Direkt angrenzend prägt natürlich auch der Burj Al Arab die gesamte Kulisse.
Ich persönlich habe von diesen Hotels bisher nur das Al Qasr besucht – und genau deshalb konzentriere ich mich hier auch darauf.
Al Qasr
Das Al Qasr ist schon allein wegen seiner Dimensionen ein Erlebnis. Die Anlage ist extrem weitläufig, und viele Bereiche erreicht man am bequemsten mit den Golfcarts des Hotels.
Schon die Auffahrt mit den goldenen Pferden ist schwer zu vergessen und vermittelt sofort dieses klassische Grand-Hotel-Gefühl.
Auch das Café im Hotel kann ich empfehlen.
Und da wären wir wieder bei meiner Schwachstelle: Nachspeisen.
Das Tiramisu war wirklich hervorragend. Preislich hätte ich mir dafür wahrscheinlich selbst mehrere Bleche Tiramisu machen können – aber es war es mir trotzdem wert.
Mein Tipp: Vorher Restaurant oder Café reservieren. Wer nur als Besucher kommt, kann sonst beim Parken relativ schnell auf höhere Kosten kommen.
Pierchic
Direkt auf einem Steg, praktisch neben dem Burj Al Arab, liegt Pierchic.
Die Location ist außergewöhnlich, die italienische Küche sehr gut und auch das Personal habe ich als top erlebt.

Cala Vista
Ebenfalls sehr empfehlenswert fand ich Cala Vista.
Auch hier italienische Küche, aber vor allem die Terrasse ist wunderschön. In der Mitte steht ein großer Baum und man blickt direkt auf den Strand und den Burj Al Arab.

Weihnachten im Al Qasr
Zur Weihnachtszeit befindet sich auf dem Areal des Al Qasr auch ein Weihnachtsmarkt.
Ich persönlich war begeistert.
Gerade wenn man bedenkt, dass man sich in einem islamisch geprägten Land befindet, fand ich die Liebe zum Detail beeindruckend. Weihnachtsmärkte, Dekorationen und riesige Weihnachtsbäume werden dort teilweise mit einer Konsequenz umgesetzt, die mich tatsächlich wieder ein wenig an Weihnachten aus meiner Kindheit erinnert hat.
Für mich deshalb ganz klar: Weihnachten in Dubai kann ich empfehlen.
Madinat Jumeirah
Dann gibt es natürlich noch Madinat Jumeirah mit seinem Souk.
Der Begriff „Bazar“ kann hier etwas irreführend sein, weil man darunter sehr Unterschiedliches verstehen kann. Man findet dort Geschäfte mit Kosmetik, Schmuck, Souvenirs und vielen anderen Dingen.
Für fast jeden dürfte etwas dabei sein.
Ich persönlich bin allerdings kein besonders großer Fan davon – aber das ist wieder reine Geschmackssache.
Was man ebenfalls erwähnen sollte: Rund um Madinat Jumeirah und die angrenzenden Hotels gibt es eine enorme Anzahl an Restaurants, Bars und Beachclubs, darunter auch einige international sehr bekannte Namen.
In unmittelbarer Umgebung befindet sich außerdem der Wild Wadi Waterpark. Man kann in diesem Bereich problemlos einen ganzen Tag oder Abend verbringen, ohne das Areal überhaupt verlassen zu müssen.
Allein gastronomisch könnte man hier wahrscheinlich mehrere Tage verbringen, ohne alles ausprobiert zu haben.
Ich möchte diese Lokale allerdings nicht einfach aufzählen, nur weil sie bekannt sind. Wie bei meinem gesamten Guide gilt auch hier: Ich schreibe nur über Orte, die ich selbst besucht habe.
Mein Fazit
Jumeirah und Madinat Jumeirah sind definitiv einen Besuch wert.
Die Kombination aus mehreren Hotels, dem Souk, Wild Wadi, zahlreichen Restaurants, Bars und Beachclubs sowie dem direkten Blick auf den Burj Al Arab macht diesen Bereich besonders.
Dazu kommen Orte wie Pierchic und Cala Vista, die ich selbst besucht habe und sehr empfehlen kann.
Es gibt dort außerdem noch einige weitere bekannte Restaurants direkt am Strand, die ich selbst bislang nicht besucht habe.
Und wie immer gilt bei meinem Guide: Ich schreibe nur über Orte, an denen ich selbst gewesen bin.
