Dubai Creek Harbour

Dubai Creek Harbour is not really an area where you find one attraction after another. There is no classic beach and no major sightseeing programme either. Nevertheless, I think it is definitely worth visiting at least once.
Simply Stroll and Enjoy
What I particularly like is the beautifully designed walkway around the harbour. There are also numerous stylish cafés and restaurants, modern architecture and plenty of attractive photo opportunities. What really creates the atmosphere for me is the view across the water towards the Burj Khalifa and Downtown Dubai. For me, it is less a place where you work through a list of sights and more an area where you simply spend one or two relaxed hours.
A Small Stop Along the Way
I particularly liked one of the cafés where food and drinks were served on Dior tableware. They also served small, stylishly presented burgers, which I thought were great for a quick snack. I am deliberately leaving out the name until I am completely sure what it was called.
Parking & Shopping
Getting there by rental car is uncomplicated. There are several parking options and parking garages, so you can simply leave the car and explore the area on foot. In my experience, Dubai Creek Harbour is not necessarily the place to go for classic shopping at the moment. At least during my visits, that was not really the focus there. But for me, that is not what this area is about anyway.
My Conclusion
I would allow one or two hours, walk along the waterfront, have something to drink or eat and simply enjoy the view. Dubai Creek Harbour may not be a place where I would spend an entire day, but for a relaxed stop away from the biggest tourist hotspots, I can definitely recommend it.
Dubai Creek Harbour ist nun keine Gegend, in der man eine Attraktion nach der anderen findet. Es gibt keinen klassischen Strand und auch kein großes Sightseeing-Programm.
Trotzdem finde ich: Man sollte einmal hin. Einfach flanieren und genießen Mir gefällt vor allem der wunderschön angelegte Weg rund um den Hafen.
Dazu kommen zahlreiche stylische Cafés und Restaurants, moderne Architektur und immer wieder schöne Fotomotive.
Besonders der Blick über das Wasser in Richtung Burj Khalifa und Downtown Dubai macht die Atmosphäre aus. Es ist für mich weniger ein Ort, an dem man eine Liste von Sehenswürdigkeiten abarbeitet, sondern vielmehr eine Gegend, in der man einfach ein oder zwei Stunden verbringt.
Ein kleiner Zwischenstopp
Besonders gut gefallen hat mir eines der Cafés, in dem Speisen und Getränke auf Dior-Geschirr serviert wurden. Dazu kleine, stylisch angerichtete Burger – für einen Snack zwischendurch fand ich das wirklich toll. Den Namen lasse ich bewusst weg, solange ich ihn nicht sicher weiß.
Parken & Shopping
Mit dem Mietwagen ist es unkompliziert. Es gibt mehrere Parkmöglichkeiten beziehungsweise Parkhäuser, Auto abstellen und anschließend einfach zu Fuß losgehen. Zum klassischen Shopping ist Dubai Creek Harbour meiner Erfahrung nach derzeit nicht unbedingt die richtige Adresse. Zumindest bei meinen Besuchen stand das dort nicht im Vordergrund. Aber genau darum geht es für mich auch nicht.
Mein Fazit
Ein bis zwei Stunden einplanen, am Wasser entlangspazieren, etwas trinken oder essen und die Aussicht genießen.
Dubai Creek Harbour ist vielleicht kein Ort, für den ich einen ganzen Tag reservieren würde – für einen entspannten Zwischenstopp abseits der ganz großen Touristen-Hotspots kann ich ihn aber definitiv empfehlen.
